lauren conrad jewelry.

I had planned on posting before/between my mini vacations, but as it turns out we had a huge power outage for about five days and when I got back, my internet had went down, so I was not able to. The good news is that I was able to get all my diy projects in.. The final list of projects I'll be posting about in the future include some wall art, an interesting way to arrange pictures, coffee bean candles, a pallet couch, and possibly an easy no sew pillow cover tutorial.
Now, since the above mentioned items have absolutely nothing to do with this post title, I might have you wondering if I'll ever stop rambling and get to the point and/or what I have to say about Lauren Conrad's jewelry line. The answer to the first question is yes, eventually. Now onto question two...
As you probably know, and if you don't you should, Lauren Conrad has an awesome collection at Kohl's of clothes, shoes, and jewelry. I finally checked it out and you will not believe how much I wish I could have just bought it all right then and there. I did end up purchasing two pieces of jewelry.

See what I mean? So cute. Now all I need is the rest of her jewelry. and clothes. and shoes. Well, looks like I'll need a job to go along with that. And that's all for now, have a great week.

upcoming diy.

I have already started the process of redoing my room and my sister's room. There is currently a coat of paint on each room and myself. Awesome. But, what this means for you is that I'm going to have plenty of diy projects (for YOU) that I'm going to share right on here. These will include, but are not limited to:

  • a chalkboard wall
  • wall decor
  • bulletin board projects
  • a really cool couch
  • and possibly some candles
and since I'll be getting my license relatively soon (as scary as it sounds), I'll probably make one of these in the near future as well...
  • fabric keychain
SO, check back here to find out about all these adventures. I'm gone the 5th-15th, though so hopefully I'll have one or two up before then!

Have an idea for me? Let me know! I'd love to try it out.

my favorite trends: oversized sunglasses

Always loved 'em, probably always will. I can never spend too much on sunglasses because my having to buy new ones every year due to scratches and other sunglasses' mishaps never fails. Forever 21 is my go to for these because you can spend $15 and get three pairs or more. My favorite part about wearing huge sunglasses is the fact that doing your makeup is completely optional because they cover half your face anyways. A perfect solution for lazy summer days.

Do you have a favorite trend for this summer? Let me know!

ootd.

I still have to get all my pictures from my mini-hauls (which haven't exactly ended as I am continually adding to my summer wardrobe at this point) but I will do a little sneak peak with my first outfit of the day!

Here you have it.

Sweater- Hollister
White Shirt- (My mom has) owned this forever
Shorts- GAP outlet

I snagged those shorts for a fantastic deal, by the way... fifteen bucks. Those are new. That was a trend I was excited to try and I have actually fallen a little in love with along with those button downs under sweaters and flipping up the cuffs. I need to purchase my own button downs in the worst way! Well, that's really all I have for this short and sweet post.

Have a lovely week!

oh, hi. sorry.

Yes, it has been a very long while since I've been here. Yes, I sort of took a silent vow to stay off here until the end of the school year. Yes, while we are still on the subject, I am still in school and have two days left of exams until I am finally free from freshman year. (How's that for an alliteration, English exam?) And finally, yes, I broke my vow. Oh well.

I just wanted to update you to let you know that I am so looking forward to summer. Shocked? Yeah, you shouldn't be. I've been working on overload these past couple weeks and my brain is beyond fried.I do have good news though, for me anyways, and sort of for you, because guess what! I got my new clothes, which means very near future- as in, first week of summer, will be a haul post, and let me tell you, I am pretty excited about all this stuff. And coming soon will be a jeans to shorts tutorial... without looking, well, trashy, because I've been perfecting my skills in that area lately as well. I updated my music page also, so be sure to check that out. I think The Workday Release just might be one of my new all time favorites with so many fantastic songs.

And finally, some pretty summer pictures to end my post and motivate me to finish out the school year...

I have some pretty exciting things planned for this summer. What about you?
Also, if anybody has a clue where some cute swimsuits are, hit me up. I am in desperate need of a new one and have had a crazy time trying to find one!

prom and pretty weather.

To make up for the lack of pictures in my last post, I have about a million in this one. My internet was down for about a week. Right when I have some projects due for school, of course. Ha. But these past few weekends have been pretty busy compared to my usual sit around and do nothing weekends.

Last weekend was prom, and that was crazy. I learned I was going three days before. three. days. Give a girl a little notice, right? Everything all came together anyways and it was a fun time.

My hair- thank you, Hannah.

I really loved the back of this dress!

This weekend one of my friends came over and we took some pictures in this pretty woods behind my house. Another fun time!

                                                                                 one with my lovely sister

Also, I should be ordering some new clothes here pretty soon, so I hope to be doing my first "haul" post in the near future :)

cake batter puppy chow.

This weekend I was up to some major baking, like, staying up all night baking. I made some cookies, cake pops, and last but not least, from the title of the post, cake batter puppy chow. It's super easy to make and extremely delicious. Here's the recipe- sorry, no pictures.. my family ate this stuff up before I had the chance to take any!

Cake Batter Puppy Chow
adapted from six sisters' stuff's recipe

  • a box of rice Chex
  • a box of Funfetti cake mix (or any kind you'd like)
  • a  20 oz. package of vanilla almond bark
  • about two teaspoons of shortening
  • a cup powdered sugar
You need a double boiler and a pan of boiling water. Go get one. Got it? Good. Let's get started.

Melt half the almond bark and half the Crisco at a time, depending on the size of the pan and boiler.
Once it's all melted, mix the Chex and melted bark mixture in a large bowl.
Add the powdered sugar and cake mix.
Now you're done. It's seriously that easy.

It's easy to give as a gift, too. (yes, that's what I did with some of it) Just fill up a mason jar and tie a ribbon around the lid. It looks adorable. I'm not sure how many people tried this, but a lot of them came up to me and told me how good it was. So, go ahead and try it.. just let me know how it goes (:
